Prague brownfields are headed for makeover

Architect studio Hamiltons will oversee its newest redevelopment project in Žižkov aimed at revitalizing one of the most appealing yet neglected parts of Prague. Based in London, Hamiltons Architects studio has been actively involved in the redevelopment and rejuvenation of numerous inner-city, deemed “brownfield,” sites across the United Kingdom and Europe. The first phase (circa 4 hectares) will include retail and leisure centre with residential part that will serve as a gate to the new city district built on former freight railway station. As expected, the project is heavily opposed by groups dedicated to preserving the historic spirit of the city.
