Home away from home, which feels like home…

Serviced apartment in Prague

Since the mid 1990’s Prague has witnessed astonishing expansion of the tourism business. It did not take long after the fall of the iron curtain, for Prague to put itself on the map of “must see” places in Europe. The rich history, impeccably preserved architecture and monuments and the romantic spirit draw millions of visitors every year. Business travelers are increasingly traveling to Prague as well. No wonder Prague has a new hotel opening almost every week.

The increasing cosmopolitan character of the city has been perhaps the most generous for the providers of hotel accommodation in Prague. The selection of hotels is endless. There are classic, five-star hotels throughout Old Town, worldwide luxury chain hotels, such as the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, increasingly popular design and boutique hotels all the way down to hostels catering to the younger and more adventurous.

However, unless you have very deep pockets, you’re a celebrity or high-power business executive, you can usually afford the modest 15m2 hotel room with a descent size bed, crammed bathroom and very little room for maneuvering; unless you decide to rent a serviced apartment in the center of Prague for the fraction of the cost of a hotel room. In recent years, increasing number of visitors rent serviced apartments as they provide added space and privacy with the convenience and services of a hotel. Most of the serviced apartments in Prague are located in Prague 1 or 2 very close to all the historic sites and business venues. Most of the serviced apartments on Malá Strana or Old Town are in classical buildings with modern fittings throughout.

Just as hotels, the standards in serviced apartments vary, but with careful research you can find luxurious accommodation, with fully fitted kitchen, nice furniture, linens and towels, access to satellite TV, home entertainment systems, high speed internet access and weekly housekeeping service. Imagine having separate living room, dining room and bedroom in the center of Prague for the same price as hotel room. Accommodation providers are generally very professional from the moment they book the apartment and personally meet you upon arrival to making sure your stay is flawless and memorable.

Hotel aficionados may argue that serviced apartments are less reliable, and you can never know who is on the other end offering you “quality” and affordable accommodation. But, most of the agencies working with serviced apartments have enough staff at their disposal to match the booking office of most the hotels. You can always ask for references from previous customers and look at photos and apartment descriptions before you make your decision.

What better way to experience the historic spirit of Prague, than living in a penthouse apartment , making your own coffee and drinking it in the living room with your extended family and friends without having to knock on a bunch of hotel rooms doors to get everyone together?
